Italian Honeydew Honey, 500g: Italian Forest Honey from Apicoltura Patrizi Marco
Italian Honeydew Honey, known in Italy as Miele di Melata, has a distinctive character and a deeper connection to the woodland landscapes where the bees forage. Selected from Apicoltura Patrizi Marco, this 500g honey comes from apiaries located in carefully chosen natural environments across central and southern Italy, including the Monti Ernici, Molise, Cilento, Aspromonte, Sila and areas of the Agro Pontino near Circeo National Park.
Unlike traditional floral honeys, honeydew honey originates from the sweet secretions associated with plants and trees rather than directly from flower nectar. The result is a honey with a deeper, more robust personality and a naturally less delicate sweetness.
A Taste of the Italian Woodlands
Melata is an excellent choice if you are looking for an Italian honey with more character.
Its darker, more pronounced profile makes it particularly interesting alongside foods where a delicate honey might disappear.
Try it with:
- Aged Italian cheeses
- Pecorino Romano
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Rustic bread
- Greek yoghurt
Authentic Italian honey
